7 Important Things to Know About Cordyceps

Cordyceps is a term that often gets thrown around without proper context or background. As we’ve learned, there are many different types of Cordyceps mushrooms. We’d like to clarify a few things about Cordyceps and their use and potential in Myco Botanical products.

What are Cordyceps?

Cordyceps are a type of fungi that grows in different parts of the world. Cordyceps Militaris is one of more than 400 types of Cordyceps and is commonly used in mushroom-powered immunity products.

What’s the Big Deal with Cordyceps?

Cordyceps are proven to have many positive health applications in the non-pharmacological treatment of a wide range of conditions including respiratory illnesses, erectile dysfunction and cancer.

How do Cordyceps Work?

Cordyceps produce a substance called Cordycepin. Cordycepin has been scientifically proven to have very potent anti-cancer, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, Cordycepin has shown positive effects in liver, cardiovascular and immunological health.

Do Cordyceps Have Side Effects?

Rarely. Very few people have reported mild side effects when taking Cordyceps supplements. These include dizziness and an upset stomach. These side effects disappear when Cordyceps are taken with water, food and/or after several doses.

Are Cordyceps Harmful or Toxic for Humans?

No. Cordyceps have been used in different studies on humans and toxicity levels have not been found.

What’s the Difference Between Cordyceps Sinensis and Militaris?

Cordyceps Sinensis is a mushroom that grows only in Himalayan mountain habitats at an elevation of 3600–5000 m above sea level (approx. 12,000-16,000ft). It is very rare, expensive and is at risk of disappearing given the increase of global demand.

Cordyceps Militaris grows in different parts of the world and is easier to cultivate, grow and farm. Empyrean products use Cordyceps Militaris because it is the species that yields the most Cordycepin, the substance that gives these mushrooms their outstanding health benefits.

Can Cordyceps Turn People Into Zombies?

No. Cordyceps cannot turn humans into zombies. This question is sometimes asked because popular fiction and video games have given Cordyceps a bad name and called it the “zombie fungus.”

Add ViroSafe to your stack for an EXTRA layer of protection

The most important thing to understand about our products and ingredients can be summed up in one word: synergy. It’s true…we strategically selected each of our ingredients for their known health benefits. Each independent ingredient can generate a boost for you. However, the combination of ingredients enhances the potency and efficacy of each individual ingredient, creating synergy! You know the saying, “Two heads are better than one”? In this case, the careful combination of ingredients works exponentially better than the individual ingredient alone.

For this reason, we highly recommend you add ViroSafe Roll-On to your usual mix of Empyrean products. Yes, ViroSafe works great by itself and many of you already love it. But the magic of our products lies in the synergy between ingredients. That’s how you are going to get maximum health benefits!

Go Lucid. Go Beyond. Go Empyrean.
